This is a placeholder post for what changes/additions will go into Version 1.3.

I'll start with a few must-have's of my own:

• Linking content = make user files managed by the module available in other modules.
  Issues for this relate to how the DNN filesystem syncing works.  A user posting to these forums, should have access to link content based on what they have access to with Access-Manager, and not other modules.  There are some security features built into the DNN filesystem, but realting these to AccessManager's folder security properly:  will be complex at the least.
  Still, it is past time to add this useful feature to the module. 
• Fix Upload:  Uploading in the module works identical to the built-in-filemanager.  No progress bar, and great chance for timeouts on large-file-uploads.  Previous DNN 1x/2x versions of this module had a solution for this, which will be upgraded and made available in version 1.3.
• Unzip Files
• Status/progress when copying/moving/unzipping large files (The framework for this has been added as of 1.2, making these fairly-easy additions).
• Email files = another optional setting;  allow files to be emailed directly from the server.
• Inline-Editing of files.
• Logging of normal filemanagement actions

Not all of the above will be added, but the first two are priority. 

I'de be very happy to hear more suggestions from current customers, posted in this thread.

Hi Scott, Great to see it moving along. It's certainly shaping up well.

I've only just in my last tests on 1.2 discovered that files in the manager aren't immediately synced for use in the portal. For me, the real purpose of the module is in to manage files for use in other modules, so that's definitely a real biggie.

Uploading is of course always an issue with lots of files, but so long as there is a way to either queue them or select more than one at a time, that is good. I find zipping files is only useful for me as admin, whilst none of my users ever manage it.. it's just too complicated for them and the only couple who tried were using Macs and got stuck on that. I sent you a link to that very cool free flash file upload gadget a while back. That is being used in a Ventrian module at the moment and works very well. Just mentioning it again in case it's of use here.

Also, did you catch that video I sent through with the run through of the module. There were a couple of buggy bits I found that needed looking at, plus a lot of commentary.

I have installed 1.3 and it really looks nice to me. However I support the suggestion to make it possible to hide the search function. We are using this module for customer support (customers are allowed to upload and download specific files), and the list will never be that long that they need to search. The less functionality here, the better. 

I would really appreciate a progress bar, as we have customers uploading files up to 150 Mb (needed to raise some values in web config to make this possible ...) and there is no indication whatsoever what is going on, while it can take up to one hour.

I would also suggest an option where an e-mail is sent to a specific e-mail address to indicate an upload of a file, so people responsible for handling it are alerted.  This e-mail should only be an information text (no files attached to it, because of the size).
